Dr. Abdullah understands that certain patients desire a youthful, more vibrant facial appearance without the commitment required of surgery. To help these patients achieve their goals, Dr. Abdullah offers a selection of non-surgical procedures.
Dr. Abdullah and his team use injectable products to smooth wrinkles and fill in lines and creases across the face. Options include:
- Botox®: softens creases and lines by paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkling. Most often used on the glabellar lines between the eyebrows, forehead furrows, crow’s feet and frown lines.
- Radiesse®: replaces the body’s natural supply of collagen, and fills in lines, wrinkles and skin depressions. Most effective on the nasolabial folds (that run vertically from the nose to the lips), acne scars, sunken-in cheeks and other facial features that need fullness.
- Juvederm®: effective for smoothing lines and wrinkles in the lower face, including the nasolabial folds. May also be used to plump the lips.
Injectable treatment with these products is typically quick and convenient. An appointment won’t last more than an hour, and you can immediately return to your regular activities. However, the results are not permanent, and treatment must be repeated to maintain the effects.
In addition to offering facial rejuvenation with dermal fillers, Dr. Abdullah performs facial fat transfer treatments.
Glycolic peels involve the use of a glycolic acid to remove the damaged outer layers of facial skin, thus helping to improve skin texture. Peels can be a helpful treatment for uneven skin pigmentation, large pores and wrinkles. Additionally, they may aid in the treatment and control of acne, the removal of pre-cancerous skin growths and the reduction of facial scarring caused by acne.
Glycolic acid is the smallest member, molecularly speaking, of the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) family. Naturally derived from sugarcane or rhubarb, glycolic acid has a superior ability to loosen the bond between dead skin cells in the skin’s outermost layer, the stratum corneum, thus allowing excess dead skin cells to be removed.
Optimal results from a glycolic peel are achieved after several treatments. Each treatment involves little or no downtime. Side effects may include temporary redness, and dry and/or flaky skin. Following each treatment, the use of sunscreen is essential, as skin is more sensitive to UV exposure.
If you struggle with frustrating acne outbreaks, we recommend the Lexli line of professional skincare products, formulated with a base of certified organic, pharmaceutical-grade aloe vera. The Lexli Aloe-Based Acne line includes a cleanser, moisturizer, clarifying lotion and exfoliant. Formulated to address all four of the main causes of acne, it is one of the most potent and targeted solutions available.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing treats several different types of skin issues, including fine lines and wrinkles around the forehead, eyes and lips, as well as large pores, hyperpigmentation and acne scars. Also, laser skin resurfacing can be used to remove benign skin lesions and certain pre-malignant or malignant skin lesions.
During a laser skin resurfacing treatment, the handpiece emits short pulses of light at the skin to heat it up; this causes the production of collagen, which improves the allover appearance of the skin.
Many skin resurfacing procedures are performed using the CO2 fractional laser; however, Dr. Abdullah and his skincare team will determine the best laser for your needs during your initial consultation.
