Facial Plastic Surgery Procedures
Facial plastic surgery is intended for individuals who have:
- Visible signs of aging or sun damage
- An imperfection or facial feature they’re constantly trying to minimize with makeup or skincare products
- A congenital facial abnormality
Dr. Abdullah offers a wide range of procedures — including facelift, browlift, otoplasty and eyelid surgery — to create facial balance and harmony and restore a youthful appearance.
More about Facial Plastic Surgery
The specific details of surgery, including the techniques that Dr. Abdullah uses, the recovery period and the typical results, depend on the procedure being performed. In general, however, facial plastic surgery is performed on an outpatient basis. Anesthesia will be used for patient comfort. Shortly after surgery, the patient will be able to return home to recover.
Procedures may be combined with each other or with a non-surgical treatment option (e.g., Botox or filler treatment), depending on the patient’s ideal cosmetic outcome.

Facelift addresses signs of aging, specifically in the middle and lower portion of the face, including the neck. Facelift eliminates jowls, smoothes wrinkles around the nose and mouth and gives the cheekbones a more youthful contour. Through incisions made around the temples and the ear, Dr. Abdullah lifts the deep tissue layers, repositions displaced fat and re-drapes the skin more tightly over the facial structures.
Browlift rejuvenates the forehead and eye area in several ways; it lifts a sagging brow, smoothes horizontal creases across the forehead and treats frown lines/furrows between the eyebrows.
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, treats droopy upper eyelids and/or saggy, puffy lower lids to improve the eyes’ appearance. During blepharoplasty, Dr. Abdullah removes excess tissue, fat and skin from the lids and tightens the remaining lid skin. The result is a more rested and refreshed look.
Otoplasty, or eye surgery, treats ears that are oversized, protrude from the head or have a congenital abnormality. The procedure involves manipulating the tissue and cartilage of the ears to bring them into better proportion with the rest of the head, repositioning the ears closer to the head or making other surgical modifications to treat a deformity. Otoplasty may be performed on children as well as adults.
Fat transfer involves harvesting fat from one area of the body and injecting it into an area that needs shape and volume (e.g., the under-eye area or the cheeks).
Chin augmentation enhances a weak or receding chin through the placement of an implant or using the existing bone.
Dimpleplasty creates an artificial dimple — usually in the cheeks or chin. The procedure is quick and usually performed in the office with local anesthesia.
Upper lip shortening decreases the distance between the bottom of the nose and the top of the lip by removing a moustache- or “bull horn”-shaped wedge of tissue, skin and muscle. Also known as a lip lift, the procedure can have a rejuvenating effect on an aging facial appearance.
